Health & Fitness Expo

At the Eugene Marathon Health & Fitness Expo you can shop cool vendors, collect freebies, learn about new products, listen to local and national running icons and get excited to run on Sunday! The expo is also your opportunity to pick up your race packet - this includes your bib number with timing tag attached, t-shirt and goodie bag.

MATTHEW KNIGHT ARENA:

Limited parking is available in the Matthew Knight Arena parking garage (off of 13th) - $6 per day.  Find more information about surrounding street and paid lot parking >>Matthew Knight Arena Parking & Transportation

LTD is providing FREE service all weekend!  
We encourage people coming to campus to ride LTD.  Specifically, the EmX line (bus rapid transit) stops just blocks from Matthew Knight Arena and Hayward Field at Agate Station.  Eugene Marathon participants, friends & family and volunteers can ride for free from July 22-27th.

Valet Bicycle Parking
Valet bicycle parking will be provided during the IAAF World Junior Championships and Eugene Marathon race weekend by The Center for Appropriate Transport (CAT). Bring your bike to the southwest corner of the UO Knight Law School. CAT volunteers will store your bike until you are ready to leave! $3 donation is suggested.  The valet will be open during the following hours:

July 22nd: 8:00 am - 10:30 pm
July 23th: 8:00 am - 10:15 pm
July 24th: 8:00 am - 10:00 pm
July 25th: 8:00 am - 10:30 pm
July 26th: 7:00 am - 10:30 pm
July 27th: 5:00 am - 6:30 pm

  • 5K & Kids Run participants may pick up their packets before the race on Saturday morning outside of the West Entrance to Matthew Knight Arena between 6:30-7:30 only (two blocks from starting line).  Leave yourself plenty of time!

Race Day Packet Pick-up Option 
Race morning packet pick-up is available ($15) for participants who cannot pick up their packet during expo hours. Participants purchasing this service must pick-up packets at Matthew Knight Arena (two blocks from starting area) on race morning between 4:30-5:15 a.m. ONLY. Only participants who have paid in advance and reserved this service will be allowed to pick-up packets race morning.  Packets will not be available at the starting line.  Once you register and pay for this service, you will not receive a refund if you pick-up your packet at the expo or cannot attend the race.  Participants may reserve this option when registering online or through our online store until 7/23 at 11:59 p.m.    


VIRTUAL RACE BAG:

We were proud to be named a "Top 10 Green Event in North America" by Runner's World.  We've pushed the green envelope even further by saving 1000's of pounds of paper and cardboard by going virtual with our goodie bag!  Participants will receive an email the Friday before race day inviting them to get coupons and sponsor offers in our VIRTUAL RACE BAG.   Watch your inbox!

This year we are changing how we distribute our popular resuable goodie bag.  At the Health & Fitness Expo participants will receive a clear bag for gear check purposes.  When folks cross the finish line on race day they will receive the popular goodie bag pre-packed with refueling food and water.  See you at the finish line!


EXPO RACE REGISTRATION:

Registration for the Marathon, Half Marathon, 5K and Kids Marathon is available at the expo on Friday from 1:00-6:00 pm.  Marathon and Half Marathon registration is also available on Saturday from 10:00 am -6:00 pm. (Higher Expo Prices Apply).  There is NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION FOR ANY RACE!  >>Registration Information 


PASTA DINNER:

This year the pasta dinner is being held next to Hayward Field - in the heart of the action.  Stroll through the Health & Fitness Expo, get your race packet and then head toward Hayward Field.  You can grab a beer, listen to live music and fuel up for the big day!  >>Pasta Dinner Information

3:00 TO 3:50 PM – PACE LIKE A PRO 
Clif Bar Pace Team provides expertise on running and fueling your dream marathon.

4:00 TO 4:50 PM – OREGON TRACK CLUB ELITE PANEL
This is your chance to get up close and personal with Oregon Track Club Elite’s rising stars.  Hear from a panel of incredible talent including the recent 2nd place finisher at US Nationals just weeks ago, Pat Casey.  Get their inside tips and tricks on training, race day preparation, coaching and more.

5:00 TO 5:30 PM – COURSE PRESENTATION
Virtual course tour and question & answer session with Race Director, Richard Maher.

SATURDAY, July 26

11:00 TO 11:50 AM – NUTRITION STRATEGIES FOR A SUCCESSFUL RACE   
Sports Dietician & CLIF Bar Pace Team leader, Lori Tubbs, provides practical tips and advice on how best to eat & drink during marathon weekend. A good nutrition plan will help you perform your best on race day.

NOON TO 12:30 PM – COURSE PRESENTATION            
Virtual course tour and question and answer session with Race Director, Richard Maher.

1:00 to 1:50 PM – LAUREN FLESHMAN
2-time 5,000 meter U.S. Champion Lauren Fleshman returns to the speaker line up. Lauren has recently returned to racing after having her first child.  Lauren will discuss endurance training, recovery strategies, nutrition tips, work/training balance and more.

2:00 to 2:50 PM – 2014 EUGENE MARATHON ELITES
With an increased prize purse and extra bonuses for American runners achieving “A” and “B” Olympic qualifying standards, 2014 marks the strongest elite field in the 8 year history of the Eugene Marathon.  Meet many of the front runners who will be at the starting line on race day.

3:00 TO 3:50 PM – EUGENE COACHES          
Tips on pre-race, mid-race and post-race planning from a team of coaches well known for their expertise in the field.  World Champion, Cathie Twomey Bellamy, Olympian, Ian Dobson and running writing legend, author Joe Henderson. 

4-4:50 PM – RACING IN WARMER TEMPERATURES
Thermal physiologist and 3-time Olympic Trials Marathon Qualifier Brett Ely explains how temperature affects performance, and shares strategies to prepare and execute a great race in warmer temperatures.
