Tell Us Your Story

Bring your energy and get ready to cheer for thousands of runners and walkers, from all across the country, as they speed their way along the 26.2 and 13.1 mile courses. Starting outside the University of Oregon's famous Hayward field (15th & Agate), the courses run through 9 miles of Eugene's streets and 5 miles of Springfield's streets. The marathon course winds the rest of the way along the Willamette River bike path ending on the track at Hayward Field. Some specific spectator locations include: Alton Baker, Amazon, Maurie Jacobs, Skinner Butte and Willamalane Parks. Or dine along the river/course at Valley River Inn's Sweetwaters and McMenamin's North Bank restaurants. Come out and show these runners & walkers why Eugene/Springfield is considered Track Town, U.S.A!

Best Viewing Spots

Check out the official Course Map (2016 map coming soon) and look for the gold stars that indicate the best viewing locations, cheer zones and/or where live music will be cranked up!

One of our marathoners' favorite things is seeing the signs that spectators hold up for them as they pass by. From motivational to humorous, holding signs is a great way to cheer on your specific runner or our participants in general.  Take a picture of your funny or motivational sign and post it on Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #EM16Signs and you will be entered into a contest to win a Eugene Marathon prize basket!

Do you get bored waiting for your runner to finish their race? Have a hard time seeing your runner through the crowds of people at the popular spectator spots? Sign up to volunteer as a Course Marshal and get a front-row seat as the runners pass by! Click here to visit our volunteer page and reserve your seat on race day!
